Activities

The kayak, “Hunter’s Boat” in Inuit language, is a navigation discipline that dates back around 4,000 years to Eskimo origin, and has evolved to become a sport practised by millions. It is the perfect sport to begin in the sea, allowing each kayaker to improve under maximum safety conditions until they reach their desired level. With its mild climate all year round, and accessible geography, Formentera is the perfect destination for practising kayaking on all levels: routes are adapted to suit beginners, families and even the demands of the most experienced athletes.

The island has different nautical centres with broad technical, touristic and safety experience. We could opt to navigate alongside several kilometres of stunning beaches where it is easy to make stops, or go a little further and follow longer routes that reveal the more rocky side Formentera, rugged and mysterious, satisfying our sporting needs as well as our curiosity as travellers to discover the stories that have shaped the character of the smallest of the Pitiusan islands and its inhabitants.  The Municipal Sailing School is located at La Savina Port, where courses are available in windsurfing, catamaran sailing, optimist sailing, optimist, laser, kayaking, etc.
