On the way to La Mola, this viewpoint is a place you just have to visit.
There is a place on Formentera that is perfect for observing the whole island and admiring its entire landscape. It is Formentera’s viewpoint, a site that cannot be missed by any visitor who wants to see the island from every possible angle.
As it is a low-lying island, it is necessary to head to the east of Formentera to ascend the small plateau of La Mola, the highest area on the island with a maximum altitude of 192 m. As you take the road up to this area, after passing through Es Caló de Sant Agustí, just before reaching the summit, you will find a westward-facing restaurant where you can easily park to enjoy the views. Here you will find this marvellous viewpoint where you can take a break on your way to the Pilar de la Mola.
From here you can see the entire north and south coast of the island, with the Migjorn beach and the Tramuntana beach next to Es Caló as the most outstanding features, as well as the scenic road that crosses the entire island to Port de La Savina. On many days it is curious to see how on one side of the island the sea is rough while on the other it is calm and sheltered from the winds. The best time to visit this place is probably at the end of the day, when this landscape is painted with the reddish tones of the sunset.
