Experience the 2026 solar eclipse at Es Cap de Barbaria<\/h2>\n

On 12 August 2026<\/strong>, Formentera will become the setting for one of the most eagerly anticipated astronomical events of recent years: a total solar eclipse visible during the final hours of the afternoon.<\/p>\n

To allow residents and visitors to experience this remarkable moment safely, in an organised manner and with full respect for the natural environment, the Consell Insular de Formentera<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Associaci\u00f3 Astron\u00f2mica de Formentera<\/strong>, is organising a special observation event at Es Cap de Barbaria<\/strong>, one of the island\u2019s most iconic landscapes.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

An experience under the stars<\/h3>\n

The event will feature four professional telescopes and several screens<\/strong>, allowing participants to follow the eclipse and learn more about this extraordinary astronomical phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Once the eclipse has ended, the evening will continue with a meteor shower observation activity<\/strong>, which is expected to last until approximately 11:00 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All participants will receive a commemorative pack containing:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • A drawstring backpack.<\/li>\n
  • A hand fan.<\/li>\n
  • Certified solar-viewing glasses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Drinking water will also be provided to attendees during the event.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Access exclusively by bus<\/h3>\n

    To protect the natural environment, ensure safe mobility and prevent overcrowding, private vehicles will not be permitted to access the observation area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Transport to Es Cap de Barbaria will be provided by a special shuttle bus service<\/strong>, with departures scheduled at:<\/p>\n

    5:45 pm, 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 6:50 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The buses will depart from a temporary stop located on the Sant Francesc ring road<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The admission price includes:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Return transport on the shuttle bus.<\/li>\n
    • Travel on regular public transport services to reach the shuttle departure point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      For the event, the regular public bus service will be reinforced with additional routes.<\/p>\n

      Prices<\/h3>\n

      • General admission:<\/strong> \u20ac9.<\/li>\n
      • Reduced admission:<\/strong> \u20ac4.50 for people aged over 65 and young people aged between 7 and 18.<\/li>\n
      • Children aged 6 and under:<\/strong> free admission, although advance booking is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Places are limited. Tickets will be available until 10 August at 10:00 pm<\/strong>, or until the event reaches full capacity.<\/p>\n
