Take care of the environment and enjoy the island by bike<\/h2>\n

Formentera’s natural environment is ideal for outdoor sports and what better way to enjoy it than by bike, the island’s favourite means of transport.<\/h3>\n

In recent years, 32 green routes<\/a> have been signposted, many of which are suitable for cycling: more than 100 kilometres of trails where you can enjoy the landscape of Formentera. Cycling here is very safe thanks to the special cycle routes and lanes. Added to the fact that the island is practically flat, Formentera could be said to be the ideal place for cyclists of all levels. La Mola is the only feature of any altitude that will force you to change gear, but it will be worth it when you get to the top and see the views.<\/p>\n

The winter months are an ideal time to practice this sport and soak up the peace and quiet that prevails at this time of year, while in summer it is the best way to forget about having to find a parking space and to help preserve the island by causing less environmental impact<\/b>. Moreover, access to the Natural Park is free for bicycles.<\/p>\n

Formentera is also a good meeting point for those who want to participate in sporting events especially organised for mountain bikers. Three races are held on the island in October: the Vuelta Cicloturista a Formentera en BTT<\/i><\/a> (a race for cyclists of any level with no desire to compete, with 1,000 metres of ascent and 3 stages), the BTT La Mola<\/a> (for cyclists who prefer to compete, with start and finish at Pilar de la Mola) and the Triatl\u00f3n Illa de Formentera<\/a>, with 3 modalities (Olympic, sprint and relay team).[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Metrominut Formentera, better by bike<\/strong>
\nWith the aim of promoting mobility by bicycle the Consell Insular de Formentera has published this map<\/a> which shows eight bicycle routes, near the port of la Sabina, indicating the distance and the time it usually takes to travel them.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Companies<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
