The highest point on Formentera.<\/h2>\n

At the eastern end of the island is one of the sites that many visitors consider to be one of the most magical places on the island. We are referring to the La Mola Lighthouse.<\/h3>\n

It is one of the most spectacular places on the whole island, making it a great tourist attraction. The lighthouse is located on the edge of a cliff 120 metres above sea level, on the plateau of La Mola, where the highest point on the island is also to be found: Sa Tala\u00efassa, 192 metres above sea level.<\/p>\n

One of the most impressive features of this place are its views of the Mediterranean. Truly breathtaking. It is also highly recommended to enjoy this natural setting at sunrise or sunset.<\/p>\n

Since 2019, the lighthouse hosts a cultural and dissemination space for the maritime heritage of Formentera, an exhibition area, a multipurpose space for concerts, conferences and small format plays.<\/p>\n

The summer opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. Mondays closed. From 15 October to 30 November, opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 2pm. Closed on Mondays. Closed from 1 December to 11 February.<\/p>\n

General admission price is 4.5 \u20ac. Free admission for residents, children until 18 years old and unemployed people. Retired and students will pay a reduced price of \u20ac 2.5.<\/p>\n

Next to the lighthouse is a monument in honour of the writer Jules Verne for the mention he makes in his book “Hector Servadac (travels and adventures through the solar system)”.<\/p>\n

The most direct way to reach the lighthouse from Pilar de La Mola without using the road is to do so via green route 29<\/a>. This route is also an invitation to travel back in time a hundred years, due to the rustic character of its countryside, the presence of livestock and the pleasant surprise of finding a house to the left of the track listed as architectural heritage, due to its perfectly preserved traditional features.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]
