Formentera flora and fauna<\/h1>\n

Visiting the Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera Natural Park is undoubtedly the best way to discover the diverse fauna and flora typical of the Pityusic islands.<\/p>\n

The forest landscape is made up of pines and junipers, while the beaches and lagoons of the coast are bordered by dunes and shrubs. And under the sea lies one of the essential features of this ecosystem, the Posidonia, a marine plant without which this island would not be the same.<\/p>\n

The island’s fauna is also very varied, more than 210 species of birds having made their home here, either permanently or stopping over on their long migratory journeys. Moreover, the colourful native lizards are one of the island’s most distinctive animals and can easily be spotted basking in the sun all over the island.<\/p>\n
