On Formentera we know how to enjoy ourselves.
The patron saints’ days of the different towns on the island are the most important festivities for residents and tourists. The festivity of Sant Jaume (in Sant Francesc) and the festivity of Carmen, patron saint of the sea, with celebrations in La Savina and Es Pujols are some of the most significant.
Most of Formentera’s festivals take place on a fixed date every year, so the celebration of some saint’s days has become a true tradition.
The main festivals are: Sant Joan on 24 June, Virgen del Carmen on 16 July, Sant Jaume on 25 July, Santa Maria on 5 August, Virgen del Pilar on 12 October and Sant Francesc Xavier on 3 December.
