The island
Culture
Aside from its merely seaside character, Formentera is also strongly rooted in the little land it has.
The difficulties caused by the chalky soil to the hard-working peasants, who have historically struggled to get sustenance from the countryside, are collected in the form of a permanent exhibition at the Ethnological Museum which exists on the island.
Almost all the old tools used in the rural world, together with splendid examples of traditional musical instruments, can be seen in this museum.
Without a doubt, a visit here, with the relevant explanations of a guide.
Open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm.
